I'm currently working in the Elderly Residential Care Home as a Carer here in England for about 3 years to date, from 2009 of November to present. Way back home in the Philippines, I studied Personal Health Support Worker Home Health Care Aide under the provisions of the Live-In Caregiver. This course is a short vocational course and I learned the home setting program from Home management, Meal management, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Safety and First Aid.I had experienced to worked in the Hospital as a Nursing Assistant for about 7 months last '2004 as a volunteer in the Philippines. My duties is to monitor vital signs of all the patients, measure fluids intake and outtake, IV removal and make beds. With my working knowledge and experienced I can say that I'm well trained and skilled in caring for the elderly especially in cases of early and late stages of dementia and disabled person. I also experienced working in the independent old lady for just a month as requested to be a housekeeper, including giving medication and meal preparation as my main duties.
I attained a highest standard training as well in UK for Health and Social Care in Elderly. This training are all based on the proper care standards units, legislation and organizational policy and procedure. I'm well trained in using the equipments like hoist, electronic wheel chair, computer for disabled, stair lift and other electric equipment inside of the house.
For me, Elderly and disabled care is a full-filling job career that needs more patient, gives the highest possible of care they need and provide a special and loving care.
