I am Janette and I am a Filipino citizen. I am presently employed as an ESL Teacher for Primary and Adult Level here in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I am a Graduate with the Degree of Bachelor of Science Major in Nursing. I am a Registered Nurse in the Philippines. I am married and I have a six years old son. I came from a simple and loving family. I am a God-fearing, honest, patient, hardworking, friendly, caring, nurturing, understanding and optimistic. At my current work, I am handling student’s ages from 7 to 12 years old. Previously, I have worked as a Nursery and Preschool Teacher as well, from ages 3 to 5 years old. As they said, teaching is the noblest profession, as I have found out when I chose this career path which is a little bit far from the field of Nursing. But then, it’s not that really far because in teaching, I was able to apply all my learning. Taking care of clients in the hospital and taking care of my students are just the same, although a bit more fun in school. In the hospital setting I have learned to be patient and understanding to clients and be empathic to what they are feeling. I have learned to be responsible and reliable and hygienic in taking care of all the clients’ needs. I have also learned to be creative, resourceful and at some point funny, especially if a client’s mood and spirit needs some uplifting. We are trained to be holistic and respectful to individual clients. Multitasking is a must as well as being organized. My trainings were all based on the proper care standards and procedures. In teaching children, I need to exercise safety first more than anything else especially when I was teaching Nursery class. I am responsible to their welfare and must always be on my toes because children are always active and I must always provide them a safe environment. I need to be creative, resourceful and fun as well, so as to make my students be involved always in our lessons and activities. As a teacher and a nurse, I am responsible to keep their health in tip top shape and teach them the proper hygiene. I always research and look for ways on how to improve my learning and my capabilities in taking care of children. Due to my dedication and hard work, my students have developed self-confidence and imbibed a good outlook in life. I’m the happiest whenever I see one of my students becoming self-reliant and slowly learning independence and maturity. In more than two years of being a teacher, I have loved and took care of all my students as I have loved my son, unconditionally. With my working knowledge and experience I can say that I'm well trained and skilled in caring for children as nanny. And as a mother, I understand that a family looks for a nanny to love and to take care of their child as my own, therefore, as I know myself, I would fit into your family. Education Comments:

It's been my dream to become a dentist someday because I have always been fascinated with medicine and with treating people. But then due to financial constraints, I wasn’t able to complete my clinical requirements. But I am determined to fulfill what I want to achieve in my education, so when I had the chance I decided that I should take up Nursing since at that time I already had a child. It would be great because I would have a good knowledge and training in taking care of my child and my family. My professors encouraged me to go after my goals and never to back down from any challenge that comes my way. The trainings and experiences that I had plus the love and support of my family made me what I am today, strong and passionate about my endeavors in life. In my present work, I have the opportunity to apply what I had learned in school. Because in Nursing we are taught and trained to take care of people and in being an ESL Teacher, aside from teaching, I am taking care of the welfare of my students.
