Hello future employer. I am Sheryl Jasmin Dela Cruz, 24 years old, single and Filipino. I am looking for a nice family who needs a responsible nanny. I am currently an Au Pair here in Turnhout, Belgium. This is my second year of being an Au Pair here in Europe. In the Philippines, I am a registered nurse with a year of hospital work experience. The knowledge and skills I gained and developed as a nurse has really helped me to be an effective caregiver. It has increased my understanding of children and has helped me appreciate children's uniqueness the more. Thoughts of my first Au Pair experience back in Amsterdam always put a sweet smile in my heart that radiates to my eyes. The experience has richly and positively improved my child care-giving ability. I learned as much as I enjoyed the experience. I was helping in taking care of a baby and a toddler. When I started with the family, the baby was about one month old. I was helping with everything: feeding, bathing, changing diapers, watching over them and playing with them (one of my favorite things to do with them). I proved once again through the experience that children are the most beautiful and sweetest creatures ever and the time being spent with them are never wasted. I learned to be firm yet gentle, consistent yet understanding and affirmative yet know how to set limits in dealing with them. After one year of meaningful stay with the family, I applied as an au pair/nanny to Belgium because au pair contracts last for one year only in the Netherlands. As I mentioned above, I am currently in my second year of being an Au Pair and this time here in Belgium. The family has 4 children, ages: 17, 14, 7, 7. I am providing assistance with the 7 years old twins along with performing household chores. I prepare the twins their meals, prepare them for school and being with them after school. As for caring of twins, I seem it so important to view each of them as separate individuals and to avoid comparisons between them. Along with helping with the twins, I do housekeeping, laundry and errands. I can work long hours and I am flexible with the schedule. I am an eager learner. I am willing to learn anything that will help me to become a better care provider. I am a joyful, calm person with a bright and hopeful disposition in life.
