Dear Future Employer, My name is Ruth,37 years old and a Filipino national. I am currently working in Hongkong as a domestic helper/nanny. I've been working with my employer since April 2010. I am very interested to work as a caregiver in Canada. I would be willing to look after children between the ages of 0- 12 years old. I love kids very much and I'm happy to see them growing up gradually with changes. Being with children makes me feel younger and there is so much fun with them. Something like I'm a kid again. They are kids but I'm learning from them too. I am hardworking,reliable and good natured. I'm someone who doesn't mind long hours of work and willing to contribute as much as I can into children's development. I realized that there are likely candidates who also have the ability to do the nanny job, yet I bring an additional quality that makes me a better person for the job . My character and my patience in taking care of a child. I like reading books and magazines specially on travel. I love to see other places and learn from their culture.I also like to cook. I can cook Chinese and Western food and want to improve my cooking too. Above all, I have the interest in children. I am married and gifted with 3 children (all boys) ages 8,11 and 12 years old. My husband and my mother look after my children. I always keep in touch with them and show to them my role as a mother. I want them to realize that I work overseas to give them a better future. I earned my Bachelors degree through hardwork and determination. I worked as a student library asistant for four years to help my parents with the school fees. I am very proud to finish my course. I gave the pride to my parents who wish to have a child with a degree.In 1997,I got the job as a Library Assistant in a Chinese school. I was able to interact students from toddler to highschool. I did tutoring lessons at the end of the day. There were times that I was requested to handle as a preschool assistant teacher. My experienced with the kids was great. In 2008 I worked as a nanny/domestic helper in Singapore for two years. I learned a lot from my employer on the proper ways of taking care a newborn. Together we did some research studies to improve our knowledge in childcare.When I finished my contract I came to Hongkong for better opportunity. Currently working as a nanny/domestic helper of a 3 years old girl. We have an excellent communication with my employer. We always discuss things specially on her child development. It may be sad for me to leave this family, but I do also have plans and ambitions for my family.And I believe that Canada will help me realize my dreams. I completed my degree in Bachelor of Arts in Economics through the Student's Assistance Program in the university. I rendered 4 hours service daily in the library to pay for my tuition. The program was such a big help for students who can't afford to enroll in college.
